Working on something else, but my worship leader said something tonight that, while I've heard it before, stood out this time:

We pray with questions.
He answers with "Yes" or "No"
Always good reason.
Either way, heed God.
We do not know what we ask.
He answers in love.
But in other times
His answer feels so unclear,
For it's only, "Wait."
Your time is not now,
May not be as you expect,
But your time will come.

It is poor work to read the Bible from mere curiosity, and for speculative purposes, in order to fill your head and store your mind with opinions, while you do not allow the book to influence your heart and life. That Bible is read best which is practiced most.

I'm torn, tempted to remove the last verse in this post as I don't think it actually belongs. I added it while making this posting because it felt some sort of conclusion was needed. Perhaps there was, but I don't think this verse is it. I'll leave it as it is though.
